Maisto Tops Off Their Line with Gas Caps!
Maisto has just announced a brand new line of die-cast and plastic vehicles for the youngest collector called GasCaps™. The coolest little rides to hit the scene are loaded with style,
value, and attitude and are certain to strike a chord with anyone traveling down the die-cast aisle. The cars take their design cues from many different segments. You see a little bit of Custom Shop influence with designer rims and modified stances, and also a little bit of personality with the eyes in the windshield look. All of this comes to life with an activation button located on, where else, the gas cap of each vehicle. Once depressed, the vehicles interior lights up and one of several sound bites is played. The sound bites are appropriate to the type of vehicle it is.

GasCaps™ is the first product line to be created by Eddie Castro, the newest designer to join the Maisto team. “I love these guys,” Eddie says, referring to his new creations. “From a couple of sketches we were able to develop a whole character look that is cool. When I showed these sketches to my youngest boy, he was just staring at them forever – that’s when I knew we had to make these.”

Eight different vehicles to start make up the GasCaps™ assortment, each of which will have several color designs. The unique blister-card will include a GasCaps™ logo sticker. Also being released is the Semi-Truck Service Center, a mobile service truck with flip-down side panel that reveals a garage to go complete with a working lift. The Semi also has a working gas cap. The third item in the line is the Gas N’ Go Launcher, which fuels the fun by launching three of the GasCaps™ vehicles at one time. The Launcher is styled like a gas pump handle. All three of the products are set to hit the shelves by May of 2007.
