Most people collect Maisto models just the way we make them. But they're also great as a starting point for your own customizing. Here's one that started out as a 1:18 1967 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, #31686. By the time I got done with it just about every part was modified, replaced or deleted.
The engine, front and rear suspensions, front seats, wheels and tires are all from the Maisto Specter Werkes Corvette Z06, #31116. The Camaro body was probably the most modified part with the cast-in details such as door handles, locks and wheel opening trim ground off. The lower air opening below the grille was enlarged. Many parts were removed and their mounting holes filled: bumpers, antenna, side mirror, and gas cap to name a few. The paint color is special mix of House of Color silver-white pearl and blue pearl then clear coated.
If you don't want to paint the body, you can make simpler modifications like the ones on the Maisto 1965 Corvette, #31640, below. This was shown on our old blog in February 2009 that you can see here: http://maisto.wordpress.com/2009/02/27/modified-118-65-corvette/
Awesome! I just modified the 1 18 jeep wrangler sahara. i used parts from a h2 to lift it and added some 1 18 tools i had laying around. love modifying maistos because they are built really well and are very workable.

Sorry, we haven't made a '92 Acura Integra. Thanks for suggesting that we make it in the future.
On both cars the wheels still spin and the front wheels steer but it's a really tight fit.
