This past weekend was the Nisei Showdown in Little Tokyo DTLA.
VIP car movement in becoming more popular in the states. VIP Style refers to the modification of Japanese luxury automobiles to make them more fashionable and more luxurious. This style of customization was once associated with gangsters in Japan, now it's a sub style in the mod scene.
Serious work to get this together I'm sure.
Old school rides are really the best, and at this show they were deep.
Nice Datsun wagon but what's living between the sheets?
Mazda mill looks right at home.
The more typical swap currently is the Nissan with the LS1.
My right hand man Gunner checking out the cars.
The flares are making this happen in my opinion.
Everyone was all over the LFA which I have seen quite a few times. It's nice and rare don't get me wrong but you never see a Toyota GT 2000 they only made 350 or so.
Some more of that VIP style bar on the dash.
I wasn't a fan of this color back when the lowered full size truck craze was the rage in the 90s. The time when 18" were barely coming on real hard. Well some people are trying to bring this color back. I think I saw 2-3 cars with this color. For sure you get noticed at the show and that's what it's all about.
This Skyline Hakosuka was so killer never got a shot without people all over it.
RB powered swap.
The office is simple, love the Autometer under dash.
