Twenty years after the first Vespa, the 90 Super Sprint appeared right in the middle of the Swingin' Sixties. This 1965 model had a more aerodynamic look to it. The most obvious of the sleek new features was locating the spare tire to the footwell area from the left side of the rear wheel. In addition to the 90 Super Sprint, Maisto makes several dozen different Vespa models in 1:18 die-cast. See them on pages 44 and 45 of the 2013 catalog on the www.maisto.com home page.
Here's the real thing. It's in a back room at the Vespa museum next to the factory in Italy where I photographed most of the scooters in their collection for the Maisto line.
Radio control with a twist! Drive it like a 4-wheeled vehicle or morph it into a robot then drive it. Shoot soft-tip darts in either configuration. It's another great idea from the minds at Maisto. SKU 81177.
Some of you may remember what it's like to dump your toy box out on the floor. Opening the lid and pulling out all the elements necessary to create the automotive wonderland that would very soon be taking over the bedroom, living room, dining room, kitchen or what ever floor you would be commandeering for the next few hours.
So the other day we decided to dump our Elite Transport "toy box" out onto the department conference table...for work purposes of course...
This very well could be the largest collection of Maisto Transports ever seen. And this isn't even all of them!
See if you can find yours!!
Don't forget to take the time to DUMP your toy box out once in a while.
