This driver was moving along pretty quick so this is the only photo I could get. Many call this the greatest Benz ever made, others say it's the best car on the planet. It looks fast just hard parked, and I heard the amount of torque is insane! Love it or leave it this car makes a statement.

3 inch Fresh Metal 1932 Ford woody and sedan delivery PDF Print E-mail

Here are a pair of 1932 Ford "longroof" cars. Above is a customized sedan delivery. It's essentially a two-door sedan with metal replacing the rear side windows and a side-hinged rear door. It was built on a car chassis, different from the larger panel truck of that year.

Using a common chassis and fenders with the sedan delivery is this phantom two-door woody wagon. The actual car only came as a four-door but I customized it into a two-door. Like the sedan delivery, it has a chopped top and custom wheels.

CAPD's Picks For 2011 PDF Print E-mail

Here are a few favorites picked by the team here at CAPD.

Brad's favorite for 2011:

I picked the 1/64 Missile Tow because it has fat fenders and carries cool cars!

Rick's favorite for 2011:

1/10 RC Lamborghini Aventador, because I have a thing for sexy italians. My runner-up would be the 1/6 Ducati GP Racing motorcycle, the Rossi version, but, um, not for the same reason.

Charles's favorite for 2011:

I like the 1939 Ford Deluxe coupe because the styling is clean as compared to the nearly identical 1940. Mechanically, the '39 was the first year for a Ford to have hydraulic brakes and it was the last year for "old fashioned" features such as a swing-out windshield and a hand crank for starting.

Jose's favorite for 2011:

Hmmm I like!

Jody's favorite of 2011:

I chose the 1:24 1929 Ford Model A because of its knuckle dragging stance and Kustom Kulture Appearance.

Castro's favorite for 2011:

Castro was out of the office but we parked the Baja Beast in his spot.

Baja Beast was probably one of my favorites. It was a different product for us, faster better quality RC. I enjoyed working with a different graphics process going from Tampo process to full color blister body. It's really one of our funnest products to date.

My pick for 2011:

The 1:64 gassers released under Allstars. The idea of recreating some street and strip inspired die-cast for Maisto was a nice change of pace. Yes this style is from a past era of hot rodding but that doesn't make it any less cool.

Ralph was unavailable for his pick. Many believe he is on transcontinental flight for New Years.

Phender — 3" '40s style custom exclusive to Maisto PDF Print E-mail

Cars of the 1940s had flowing lines as they evolved from the boxy '20s and early '30s styles. This made them especially desirable for customizing. Steve Eastwood designed this one for Maisto from scratch, evoking the general apppearance of '40s coupes while adding many fine details that accentuate the smooth shapes.

The gold car is from the 3" Fresh Metal assortment while the Captain America car is from the Marvel Universe Series 2 collection, #15134.
